Bottoms, one of the most absurd teen comedies in years, will be released on VOD on Friday, September 22. This is a delightful showcase for stars Ayo Edebiri and Rachel Sennott, as well as another strong work from writer-director Emma Seligman. While it is one of those films that would be best experienced in theaters, there is still plenty of joy to be had in checking it out at home as well.
I am excited to watch Bottoms, as it sounds like a fun and refreshing take on the teen comedy genre. I am also interested to see how Seligman, who is best known for her critically acclaimed 2020 film Shiva Baby, follows up on her success.
I agree that it is always best to see comedies in theaters, where the audience can laugh together and feed off of each other’s energy. However, I am also grateful that Bottoms will be available on VOD, so that I can watch it at my own convenience if I am unable to make it to the theater.
